A group of community volunteers were busy on Main Street and Broadway Street in Randolph on Saturday to turn the decorative planters into fall natural beauty. With summer behind us it was time to have our community to share in the “harvest” look we see in the many fields surrounding our community. The summer flower planters aligning the streets, City Hall and City Auditorium now are decorated for fall.
A team of community members planning and helping with the summer and now fall project on Saturday included Kalynda Kuhl, City Council Member, Janelle Biernbaum and Karla Korth of Karl’s Kurls. The planters were purchased with a grant from the Randolph Area Foundation this past summer.
Special thanks to those from our community who provided products for the planters. Local farmer Blake Hokamp provided the corn and cornstalk while Jim Riedel, former business owner and farmer donated all the pumpkins and gourds.
Other helping on Saturday included Dwayne Schutt – BoBo’s Express, Derrick Kuhl – Diversified Insurance, Michael Schutt, Danielle Schubauer, and our pumpkin and gourd runner Audra Kuhl.
